Catherine Croney

Catherine is an Associate with inHeritage with expertise in strategic planning for interpretation, working with communities and stakeholders and project management.

Catherine has over 15 years experience in the field of interpretation from developing interpretation plans to copywriting and project management.

Catherine works part time as Interpretation Manager with the Peak District National Park Authority.  Since starting in 1996, she has developed a Peak District Interpretation Strategy in consultation with key stakeholders.  Her responsibilities include the strategic management of interpretation within the wider Peak District, managing large-scale interpretation projects, writing funding applications to regional agencies and working with communities on interpretive planning. Catherine was responsible for the overall management of Peak Experience with Bill over the past four and a half years.

She has managed the creation of interpretive displays within the National Park Authority’s Visitor Centres and has also written text for various panels and leaflets for the Peak District National Park Authority, The National Trust, Severn Trent Water and Natural England.

An experienced copywriter, Catherine’s other consultancy work includes writing interpretation panels and a children’s garden trail for the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire, and a self-guided trail, children’s activity trail and wildlife spotter guides for Natural England.

Recent work includes working with Brecon Beacons National Park Authority to produce a comic style booklet on geology and history for 14 – 16 year olds.  She ran focus group meetings with teenagers to engage them in developing the style and ideas for the booklet.
